9x Olympic Medalist Kyle Chalmers Debriefs Paris Olympic Games, Looking Toward LA28 | SwimSwam

By Coleman Hodges on SwimSwam

Kyle Chalmers is an Olympic champion and after Paris, a 9x Olympic medalist, winning two silvers and a bronze at these most recent games. The Australian swimming legend logged a 47.xx (flat start and relays) seven times throughout the 9-day meet, with his only 100 free swim not in that category coming in his prelims 100 free, where he was 48.0.

Chalmers was kind enough to take some time out of his engagement celebration in Norway to chat about the highs and lows of his experience in Paris. Coming into his 3rd Olympics, Chalmers was dealing with injury and had to change coaches and training locations 4 months prior. Despite this, he is still walking away with his 3rd individual medal in the 100 free, a historic feat.

In the SwimSwam Podcast dive deeper into the sport you love with insider conversations about swimming. Hosted by Coleman Hodges and Gold Medal Mel Stewart, SwimSwam welcomes both the biggest names in swimming that you already know, and rising stars that you need to get to know, as we break down the past, present, and future of aquatic sports.
