While I agree that drop based testing is the gold standard - we also should consider the fact that “smart pools” are here and automated testing is the next logical step. I have not had a chance to test this yet but likely going to try. Since I pay next to nothing for pool chems [ie SWG (water softener salt), borax, calcium chloride, etc] - I don’t mind investing in some innovative tech...
