How to handle plumbing from Pool

I replaced an old pump with a used a pump I was given and it provided me the opportunity to replace some old Jandys that were cracked and sucking in air. This is my first attempt. I recognize that is is sloppy and there are MANY mistakes and some untidy work. However, it functions and I can drain the pool if/when it gets close to overflow (albeit post filter and not pre).

My question though is how I should handle the suction side lines from the pool - skim and main drain (second photo)...
