Freeze protection.

I have a dilemma. I live in the Houston area, slightly south; it’s supposed to be below freezing for over 24 hours. I know the pool pump needs to run for freeze protection to keep the pipes from freezing but nobody will be home and there is a great possibility we will lose power. My question is should I just shut the system down and drain everything and leave it open to atmosphere or is there something else I should do? If I drain everything and leave it open I’m not worried about the pumps...

Freeze protection.
