Pump quit working

So I have the dreaded Hayward 3400 VSP, it went out and Hayward through my local authorized pool company is selling me a new tristar vsp 950 and a pretty good discount. The problem is my pump will be down 2-3 weeks. What can I do to avoid a very nasty pool? Luckily it is winter, I am in northern Ca. and the lows are in the 30's and highs mid 50's, with some sunshine. I do have a sheer decent that I have been running 3-4 hours a day. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
